Calling all filmmakers and film writers! The rules are up and we’re ready to go!
Announcing the 2011 Live and Live Festival, a collective work of film and words celebrating the art of silent movies. The Laugh and Live Festival celebrates the art of silent film. Offering an opportunity for student and non-professional film makers to experiment with the silent format, The Laugh and Live Festival aims to increase both the participants’ and the public’s understanding and appreciation of historical silent film, and challenges aspiring filmmakers to consider silent film as a viable modern format.
- Open to all amateur, student, and non-professional filmmakers July 15, 12010.
- All Film and Essay submissions must be received by April 15, 2011.
- Film and Essay Nominees will be announced on May 1, 2011.
- Winning films and runners up will be screened at the Douglas Fairbanks Memorial at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, on Sunday May 22, 2011.
- Winning essays will be published in a collection by the Douglas Fairbanks Memorial.
- Additional prizes will be announced closer to the event.
