2011 Laugh and Live Festival — Essay Contest

SUBMISSION AGREEMENT

I, the undersigned, as submitting author of the essay, acknowledge and agree that I have read, understood, and complied with The Laugh and Live Festival submission rules. If my essay is selected to receive an award from The Laugh and Live Festival, I will be present at the screening and awards ceremony on May 22, in Hollywood, CA.

Additionally, should I be awarded, I will acknowledge The Laugh and Live Festival and use the Award Logo in any future paid advertising and promotional materials deriving benefit from the festival.

I hold The Laugh and Live Festival harmless from any damage to any materials including the printout en route or otherwise during the festival’s possession of the essay. Further, I am the owner of all rights, title and interest in the Submitted Essay, including, without limitation, the worldwide copyright in and to the Submitted Essay, and have the full power and authority to submit the Submitted Essay to The Laugh and Live Festival for its consideration and review.

In consideration of my entry of the Submitted Essay into The Laugh and Live Festival, and The Laugh and Live Festival’s agreement to review my Submitted Essay, I hereby grant The Laugh and Live Festival “gratis,” non‐exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide license, in perpetuity, for the life of copyright, including all extensions and renewals of copyright, to publish, transmit, display, distribute, reproduce in copies, edit, couple with other essays, and sell the Submitted Essay.

Further, I have read all of the warranties and representations contained in the 2011 Rules and Regulations pertaining to entries of Submitted Films submitted to The Laugh and Live Festival, and I expressly acknowledge and agree that all of the warranties and representations as they pertain to my Submitted Film are true and accurate. I hereby indemnify and hold harmless the organizers of The Laugh and Live Festival, its employees, officers, directors, partners, representatives, contractors, agents, attorneys, affiliates, successors and assigns harmless from any and all claims, complaints, causes of action, liabilities, judgments, losses, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of or in connection with any and all claims, resulting from, based upon or incurred because of my breach of any the warranties and representations as contained in the 2011 Laugh and Live Festival’s Rules and Regulations.
